OS upgrade will it work? Not a NORMAL upgrade either!?

I have an HP Desktop with DVD/CD drives
2800+ AMD Proccesor
Current windows xp service pack 2
512MB
80GB
My parents gave me it as a gift but I hate windows and microsoft. I have seen guides on how to install Leopard 10.5 on pcs and 10.4 Tiger either will work. I have a mac mini 1.8GHz Thats less than the pc but its intel. Has anyone tryed this?
