How can I burn my DVDs on my Mac to run on a DVD player?

I have a 13" aluminum Macbook, and I am running Snow Leopard. I'm trying to burn my DVDs, and I keep making "data discs" which do run on a normal DVD player.
Is there a way I can burn my DVDs, without purchasing any new software. If so, how can I do this?

Step 0:Install and run this program
Step 1: Click "Add" button to import WMV/AVI files to convert WMV/AVI to DVD.
Step 2: Select Merge or Batch function.
Step 3: Set your preference to burn WMV/AVI to DVD.
Step 4: Click " Burn" button to start.
