How do I restore my iTunes account after I clean install my Windows OS?

I plan to clean install my PC and install Windows 7 and wipe out everything. How do I preserve/restore my iTunes settings because I backed up all my songs on an external drive. Ideas?

I've done this before, and all you have to do is copy and paste your music/movies and the program onto your external hard drive. (If your music is all over the place, you can have iTunes organize it in Edit > Preferences > Advanced tab and checking the box for "Keep iTunes Media folder organized.") The program folder is probably located at C:Program Files, and just copy and paste the "iTunes" folder. Also copy the "iTunes Sync" folder if you have one of those. When you have your new OS installed and ready to go, simply copy and paste these folders into the appropriate locations (on your internal hard drive).

This preserves everything so well, your music library should look exactly as it did on your old OS, with dates added/play counts/everything intact.
