How do I change the name that appears on my Mac using Snow Leopard / Leopard OSX?
When I click the apple icon in the far upper left corner, the drop down bar says "Log Out Jusine XXXX" ..it actually says my full name. I don't want my full name to appear.
How do I change this? I tried to do it under System Preferences>Accounts but that does not stop my full name from showing up even if I manually change the administrator name to only "Justine."
Pease help! "Best answer" to whoever can solve this problem 
If you're talking about your admin name - you change it in system pref. You have to enter your PW then it should effect that drop down and your log in.
If you're talking about your "short name" (the account name) you really shouldn't mess with it.
Your short name is used in every file path and is nearly impossible to change without causing all types of errors.
Once you have it set up you're basically stuck.
Here are instructions on how to do it but its SUPER advanced and you are likely to still run into errors. I would NOT recommend trying it.
