Apple iTunes won't let me download 10.2.1 version without downloading other stuff not needed?

Every time I fire up iTunes, it asks me if I want to download Version 10.2.1. When I choose yes, it's got check boxes next to QuickTime, iTunes, Safari and Mobile me. Unless I leave all of them checked, it won't let me download. I don't want Safari and Mobile me.

I like to keep a very clean system. I'm quite happy with Firefox. I don't want Safari too.
So the question is, how do I stay current, with the latest patches and stuff, and not get stuck with all that other junk?

uninstall itunes from the control panel then reset the computer the go to apple.com and download
