so i'm 14, 5ft 5, and 110 lbs. I hav a four pack and the rest of my body is very muscular. I'm pretty sure i have a really high metabolism because i rarely gain weight no matter what i eat. i work out. But the thing is i come from a family which a lot of them are overweight. The only people in my close family that have maintained a healthy weight are my aunt and one of my uncles. Some of the people in my family kept a healthy weight till collage but after that things turned down. My family always tells me "you wont look like that for long" or "we all started out like that". So the questions is am i genetically doomed?
No you are not.
Body weight is not genetic. Metabolism might be genetic but weight gain and weight loss is not. As long as you keep a healthy and active life style you will be normal body weight.
I bet your families daily activities consist of coming home, eating and watching TV. That is not genetic, anyone would be over weight doing that.
Prove your family wrong, dedicate yourself to a healthy life style, just stay active.
