Can A Dell Dimension 3000 hold 2 GB of RAM?
My computer is very old, and I want to speed up my computer so I can run Windows Vista (I have Windows XP) and play Halo 2 Vista and other vista exclusive games. My Computer only has 512 MB of RAM, and that isnt enough to run vista or any games I know of. I'm just wondering if I purchase 2 GB of RAM and put it in the RAM slots on my motherboard, will it work? Any help would be appreciated.
Yes, the maximum amount of RAM a Dell Dimension 3000 can handle is 2 GB. So you'll be just fine.
Your computer has 2 slots for RAM, and each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700 or DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot. So you'll need to buy two 1 GB sticks of DDR PC2700 or PC3200.
