Do you need a mac for graphics design? (part 2)?
In my last question the answers were very vage and the last person just gave me a rant (not an answer) I built my desktops for my games but now i want to go to graphics, art, design, and maybe a bit of game design. I have used a mac before, and they were awsome in using photo shop, music, and some art applications but lacked in web surfing, work applications, combatlbilty, lacks a good experince in its version of vista, and gaming, and they seem underpowered for the price, but i can do without gaming since i have a gaming pc desktop. But im willing to bend my $2000 to $2500 but i just need some strait forward answers. Im not getting it as a os replacement, just a laptop to work along side my pc desktop for my career.
I'm a freelance graphic designer so I move around quite a bit. I use an alienware area 51 m17x (gaming laptop) as my primary computer. It works great. I used macs when I was in school, but they slowed me down because I wasn't comfortable on them. I now have a part time job as a graphic designer for a company here. I also use a PC there too.
When I was in college using macs in the computer lab, I ran into a few problems changing OS's back and forth. So I would stick with PC
