What is your favorite Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest game?

I'm only referring to the eight games in the main series (no spinoff like Dragon Quest monsters)

My personal favorite has been for the longest time Dragon Warrior III. I really like how long the game was, and just when you thought it was all over, you had the whole new quest revisiting the old land of Dragon Warrior I. I like how open the game is, you get to choose who you have in your party, and how to change them at the shrine whenever you want to.

I was very happy when this game came out on the Game Boy Color. the improvements made the game even more enjoyable.
