Why would you buy iLife 06 or 08?
I have a Mac, just upgraded to Leopard OSX. I need iWeb to draw a webpage, but I can't seem to buy that without buying iLife 08 from Apple. But I see that iLife comes with many apps I already have from my OSX install, like iDVD and GarageBand. So why are they included in this bundle? Do I not get updates to these programs through the apple update utility without purchasing iLife 08? It just seems weird to me to have these apps included, but selling an upgrade w/o marketing it as an upgrade. Or w/o marketing the default installed apps as "lite." What gives?
If you just upgraded you mac to leopard chances are when you got it tiger was on it. Correct? Well then the tiger discs came with your mac along. So just take disc one of the tiger discs and put it in your computer. Then click on install bundled applications. After accepting the terms, click on the customize button. Then click on where it says bundled applications again. A drop down menu should come down showing all the apps that came with tiger. Just make sure you check all the ones you want and don't check the others. Then hit install. I just had to do this b/c i did a clean install of leopard on my new imac so I lost all the ilife apps that came with tiger.
