MAC, XP, or Linux pc? Which one is best?
I currently run XP on a 7 yr old pc, it still runs good and I keep eveything patched and up to date.
Still, it's been 7 years so I'm going to buy a new computer. I've been thinking about a Mac.
I typically use apps like firefox, office, quickbooks, ms photo editor and quicken. Also have a monitoring program on for the kids. Can I still do all of this with a Mac.
As for hardware, I use a linksys router, canon Pixma1600 printer and a Canon MF4150 laser all in one machine.
I can devote some time to learning a new OS but not tons of it and I would like to still use my above hardware and have everything run smoothly with as little problems/interruption as possible.

The monitoring program probably won't work on a Mac. There are other programs available, though. You'll have to get Mac versions of Office and Quicken as well.
The router will be no problem, and I doubt you'll have problems with the camera. There are drivers available for your printer, but you'll have to download them. Firefox is available for the Mac.
Frankly, I think Linux is the best, but I have to let everybody decide for themselves.
