Is Quicken Home and Business 2008 Canada any good?
I've read bad reviews for Quicken H&B 2008 on amazon.ca and futureshop.ca, but good reviews on a bunch of US sites. Is there a serious problem with the Canadian version? I really want the extra functionality that comes from H&B like investments and rental properties, which I can't find in any other product (i.e., Microsoft Money). Any suggestions? Thank you.
Quicken is not too bad of a product that has evolved over the years. Haven't got this newest version so can't comment on it in particular. However have utilized older versions of the program and it is quite good for the most part.
The sub category part and the reporting based on it can be good for an accountant or bookkeeper to utilize for year end or month end accounting. You can add/rename sub cats and such so it could be customized for your particular thing or for specific expenses or income so was flexible for that.
Definitely better than no financial program at all. Easier to use than a spreadsheet that would take awhile to design for the same function.
Canadian versions usually are the same as american except in the calculation part for interest and tax categories.
